C&O L-2 / L-2A Hudson 4-6-4
"Heaviest Hudson Ever..."

The Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad introduced a new type of locomotive to its road in 1941. This new locomotive was the 4-6-4 and eight of them were ordered from the Baldwin Locomotive Works. They had roller bearings on all axles. One of them, number 300, had roller bearings on its side and main rods as well. 300 was also unique in that it had Union Pacific style "elephant ear" smoke deflectors applied some time around 1948. It was one of only two C&O locomotives to receive this modification. The C&O was content to use the northern name associated with this new locomotive, Hudson, and numbered these Class L-2s 300 through 307. Although they had the same name as the NYC's Hudsons these C&O Hudsons were much larger than the NYC's J-1s.

In 1948, five more Hudsons were ordered from Baldwin and numbered 310 through 314. These were designated as class L-2-A. As it turned out, these were the last passenger steam locomotives built by Baldwin. They were also the heaviest Hudsons ever built.

Southern Pacific AM-2 4-6-6-2 Cab Forward: Arrives March 20, 2008
Born as MM-2 in the early 1900s, 12 of these articulated Mallets were upgraded with superheaters and Worthington feed water heaters and a 4 wheel pilot truck in1936. These 4-6-6-2s were reclassified as AM-2s, they were then converted from compound to simple mallets, by replacing the rear cylinders with smaller ones, and packing the forward cylinders to have the same internal chamber size. Sunset Models is proud to announce a very collectible (Less than 50 of each cab number) and super detailed version of the SP AM-2. If you are into SP, you can't miss this! PRR O1 Light Passenger Electric:

PRR O1 Light Passenger Electric PRR used these 2000 hp 2-B-2 locomotives ran in pairs primarily for light passenger trains. During WWII they pulled the Susquehannock and Lehigh Valley Trains. In their later years they could be seen at the Sunnyside Yards. Both units powered in 2R. In 3R one unit with TMCC and Railsounds, unit B is also a powered unit slaved to unit A. CB&Q, DM&IR and B&LE 2-10-4:
The Burlington's M-4s were built in 1927-35 by Baldwin Locomotive Works. They were so successful that the B&LE ordered 47 of them. Some were sold to the DM&IR. Sunset Models is making all 3 locomotives all uniquely detailed as the prototypes. They tipped the scales at 504,570 pounds locomotive weight, and at 83,300 pounds of tractive effort they were without doubt the Burlington's heaviest and heftiest steam engines. 2 versions, Elesco or Worthington Feedwater Heaters. HO SCALE:

We are pleased to announce further details regarding our HO model releases. We have chosen the QSI Quantum sound system for these models. Due to increases in production costs, currency exchange rates and the additional cost of QSI equipment, we have to raise our prices on these models.
